The Arachnan Wars
This is a Warhammer 40,000 fan-site detailing the backstory and history behind my own personal corner of the 40k universe, The Arachnan System. This small backwater system is home to the Knight world of Crusadia, The Forgeworld Autigula and the lowly planet called Mustarra. The system was a peaceful yet boring corner of the Imperium until the Cicatrix Maledictum tore straight through the small star system and literal hell broke loose.
Crusadia and the Hell Knights
Pictured Above, Flag of Crusadia.
Crusadia was once an idyllic Knight world, untouched by chaos and protected by the Mechanicum aligned House Banhammer who had earned their honour by purging the Arachnan system of Xenios to make it fit for human settlements. The Banhammers were discovered some time after the Horus Heresy and are known to have fought for mankind during the War of The Beast.
When the great rift tore across the Milky Way house Banhammer were beset upon all sides by Daemonic entities called Warp Wryms. These colossal beasts numbered too many for the Knights to face alone and so they turned to the Dark Gods for help. One by one the Knights of Crusadia fell to chaotic influence. Their King. Leonard the 27th became known as Captain Redbeard and now rules Crusadia with an iron fist, frequently leading his corrupted scions (Now known as Hell Knights) on infernal quests against Imperial worlds, though recently the knights have returned to Crusadia to deal with the Arrival of Waaagh! Fastkill which has crashed its way onto the planet after being lost in the Warp for millennia.

Mustarra, the Gasworld
Pictured Above, The battle-standard of the Mustarran Gas-Troopers
Mustarras history is one of miserable working conditions, poor pay and unhealthy environments. A world so choked by carbon emissions and mutagenic gases that the human population has forgotten what their own faces look like under their protective masks. The workers on Mustarra were constantly on the brink of rebelling against their Imperial overlords, and when their whole planet was engulfed by the Cicatrix Maledictum they were pushed over the edge. In a violent spree of organised madness the underclass of Mustarra butchered their way across the planet and seized control from their oppressors. Hordes of mutants emerged from hiding, thirsting for Imperial blood and Grand Demagogue Harrishyen Kepp became the overlord of Mustarra.
The Military of Mustarra are known as the Gas Troopers and are fervent chaos worshippers, they march into battle alongside snarling packs of mutants and are supported by ancient battle tanks that belch even more toxins into the atmosphere for the Gas-Troopers have come to crave the polluted air of their home world, wearing special masks that allow them to breathe the chemicals without succumbing to mutation.

Heretek Forgeworld Autigula
Pictured above, The Sigil of the Dragonantine Cult
The forge world Autigula is as ancient as the Machine Cult itself and is home to many technologies and STCs long thought lost, including those to make the dreaded Men of Iron. The tech priests of this world have always jealously guarded these secrets not even sharing them with other members of the Mechanicum. The forges of Autigula were corrupted by chaos long before the great rift opened and had been secretly producing daemon engines for a planned invasion of the rest of the Arachnan system
However this invasion never happend with the targeted planets coming under chaos control Autigula allied freely with Mustarra and Crusadia.
The Autigulan branch of the Dark Mechanicus are known as the Dragonantine Cult and worship not only the Chaos Gods but also the slumbering Void Dragon on mars.
